“A house is made of materials and a home, of imprints on them.”
This house, situated in the woody western ghats, is a labyrinth of materials. Each material speaks of a time and of a pattern of usage. The "House of Footprints" is a 160 year old bungalow situated in Raiwood, Lonavala, Maharashtra, India. The bungalow was to be carefully restored while reimagining its former glory.

The layout of this house is simplistic with a passage of social spaces through the middle of the structure from North to South dividing it into two symmetrical halves.

“We all tell stories of our spaces, but spaces have their own stories, that of time, of people, of experiences. Materials play a key role in spaces , who become carriers of these stories.”
